MTPAK COFFEE JAPAN is a brand launched in April 2025 as a manufacturer of coffee packaging and the sole agent in Japan for MTPAK COFFEE.

MTPAK COFFEE, located in Shanghai, China, has been manufacturing various materials such as takeout cups, coffee bean bags, and other supplies for coffee shops and roasters worldwide since its establishment in 2015.

Approximately one year since starting operations in Japan, we have been gradually expanding our packaging offerings to coffee roasters through exhibitions like SCAJ and proposals to roasters.

For a long time, packaging in the Japanese coffee industry often had fixed shapes, making it difficult to reflect the image and values of individual brands, forcing them to use similar bags.

Overseas, unique and highly visible packaging that reflects brand identity, utilizing diverse materials and proprietary processing technologies, has been circulating for over 10 years, both in stores and on sales floors.

Japanese coffee roasters, who are sensitive to overseas coffee scenes through exchanges with international roasters and green bean imports, have faced a dilemma: seeing such packaging but being unable to manufacture it themselves.

Now, we are acting as a point of contact, advancing proposals to enable Japanese coffee roasters to realize packaging that they previously couldn't create, "at lower cost," "in smaller lots," and "with more freedom."

Flat-Bottom Bags Made More Accessible

One of our strengths is the ability to manufacture flat-bottom bags from minimum lots. Furthermore, we have established a system to easily manufacture environmentally friendly materials such as recyclable mono-material films and biodegradable compostable films, even in small lots.

Despite the advantages of flat-bottom bags, such as excellent self-standing stability, transport efficiency, volume efficiency, and design appeal, and their mainstream status overseas, their limited adoption in Japan has been due to a scarcity of manufacturing plants and large minimum production lots.

At MTPAK, by utilizing the latest digital printing technology and minimum-size laminating machinery, we can produce completely original flat-bottom bags from a minimum lot of 2,000 pieces, regardless of size. This quantity is 1/10 of the conventional minimum lot.

Additionally, to encourage the use of flat-bottom bags in even smaller quantities, we offer over 60 standard bag items in our online shop. Bags specifically designed for coffee beans, equipped with valves and zippers, can be purchased in units of 100, and we have a system in place for immediate shipment from our domestic warehouse.

In this way, we aim to easily deliver highly functional coffee bags, considering both bean quality and environmental impact, to everyone involved in coffee in Japan.

Previously, communication with overseas manufacturers was primarily in English or Chinese. Furthermore, packaging that directly touches food is highly specialized, with characteristics varying by material and a wide range of processing variations. Importing such items involves high hurdles, including the preparation of necessary documents and procedures. To proceed smoothly, specialized knowledge in each task, along with a trusted relationship based on a track record with factories, is essential.

We aim to develop products that solve the "wouldn't it be nice if..." and "how convenient would that be..." challenges.

With the expanding online demand for coffee beans, we have released flat-bottom bags suitable for mailbox delivery boxes such as Nekopos and Click Post, which are convenient for both sellers and buyers.
