This session will feature instructor Tetsuya Hara, who transitioned from the private sector to become a public servant and served as a deputy mayor, leading various aspects of municipal administration. He will share real-world insights on the growing trend of autumn civil service exams that do not require multiple-choice tests and emphasize personal qualities, along with strategies to develop the 'ability to communicate effectively' expected of public servants.

We are hosting an online guidance session led by Mr. Hara, a former public servant who also has experience in recruitment.

During the online session, the instructor—who actually transitioned from the private sector to public service—will discuss the examination system for experienced hires, the benefits of transitioning into public service (from either private or public sectors), job responsibilities of civil servants, and the characteristics of individuals suited for such roles.

A Q&A session will be held on the day, allowing participants to ask the instructor various questions about experienced-hire exams and civil service careers. We will carefully answer all participant questions until the end.

Content The session will begin with an overview of 'civil service exams available to working professionals,' followed by explanations of 'differences in civil service examination systems' and 'major exams for mid-career applicants.' We will explain these topics in an accessible way, even for beginners, incorporating recent trends in civil service exams. We will also cover subject areas of the general knowledge multiple-choice test (used to assess foundational academic ability in the first stage of exams) and specific preparation strategies for experienced-hire tracks, such as work experience essays and work experience interviews.

Approximately 60-minute lectures by instructors who are former senior public officials, teaching an understanding of public administration work and desired candidate profiles from a practical standpoint, helping form motivation for application. For working professionals with little or no recent experience in essay writing or exams, this serves as a basic and preparatory exercise.
