Parent-Child Offline e-Sports Event Held in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture!

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, an offline Fortnite event for parents and children will be held at "Mahou no Dagashiya Minami Tirol-do" in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture.

This event aims to promote family communication by having parents and children participate in a Fortnite tournament. Additionally, a trial lesson of "SYUGO," which makes learning English fun through games, will be offered.

The "2023 Survey on Youth Internet Use" by the Children and Families Agency reported that over 97% of elementary and junior high school students use the internet, with average weekday usage exceeding 4 hours.

While children's online exposure has become commonplace, designing home dialogue and "learning methods" is becoming increasingly important to reduce online risks.

For example,

• Children who do not enjoy spending time with their families tend to use the internet for long periods (2.1 times).

• A high percentage (60.1%) responded that they learned about internet risks from their parents.

We will prepare a trial space for SYUGO, where English conversation lessons are conducted with instructors while playing Fortnite. You can enjoy experiencing usable English expressions, along with English expressions tailored to game scenes.

Demonstrations of SYUGO lessons by parent-child pairs who are regular participants are also scheduled for the event.

3) Cultivating "Non-Cognitive Skills" Through Offline Interaction and Creating a Safe Environment

The experience of gathering in the same space and challenging under rules fosters learning that is difficult to obtain online alone. In a safe and secure operation, it becomes a practical place to nurture non-cognitive skills such as interaction with others and cooperation, while competing and celebrating each other.
