Tokyo, Japan—March 26, 2026—Synology today announced the RS1626xs+, a 1U rackmount system that delivers enterprise-grade performance and reliability in a compact form factor.

"The RS1626xs+ builds on the foundation of a series widely adopted for edge deployments, branch offices, departmental environments, and even small and medium-sized businesses. It is ideal for file services, collaborative workloads, and virtual machine storage," said Susan Yen, Product Manager at Synology. "Built-in M.2 NVMe SSD cache slots accelerate file access and collaborative workflows, enabling teams to work efficiently."

Enterprise-Grade Power in a 1U Form Factor

The RS1626xs+ is designed for demanding workloads. Equipped with a 6-core Intel® Xeon® D-1726 CPU, it achieves over 352,000/85,000 4K random read/write IOPS. It provides high-speed connectivity via dual 10GbE ports and a PCIe 4.0 slot for 10/25GbE or Fibre Channel upgrades, and utilizes SSD caching via two M.2 2280 slots to reduce latency.

Beyond performance, this 1U rackmount system features high scalability and reliability. The 4-bay unit can be expanded up to 16 bays by adding an RX1225RP. To ensure maximum uptime, it includes dedicated OOB management, hot-swappable redundant power supplies, and redundant fans, providing businesses with a robust storage foundation that remains online during maintenance and hardware events.

Versatile Features for Business Workloads

Powered by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), the RS1626xs+ offers a variety of features to meet diverse business data management needs.

  • Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access for distributed teams and site-to-site synchronization.

  • Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager provide VM storage, backup, and hosting, with full support for VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack. They also facilitate lightweight VMs and containers for testing, sandboxing, and emergency recovery.

  • Synology Tiering improves storage efficiency by automatically moving less frequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers, helping organizations optimize storage costs.

Availability

The RS1626xs+ is scheduled to be available starting March 26, 2026, through Synology distributors and partners. For more details, please refer to the RS1626xs+ product page.
