## ■ What is "MemoReplay"?

"MemoReplay" is a reenactment performance by child actors and professional actors, typically held during the climax of a wedding ceremony, such as during the "bride's letter" or the "expression of gratitude to parents."

By having child actors and adult performers act out scenes from the bride and groom's childhood or memorable moments with their families, the entire venue can "experience" those memories. It is gaining nationwide attention as a completely new, moving surprise performance.

In this production, the bride's upbringing, memories with her family, and feelings of "thank you" that were previously left unsaid are visualized through scripts and acting.
For example:
- A little girl appears as the "bride's childhood self" in a scene where her mother makes her a bento lunch.
- A boy playing catch with his father is reenacted as the "groom's boyhood."
- Past scenes of adolescent misunderstandings or moments where gratitude could not be honestly expressed.
These are not shown on video, but are reenacted through "live acting," drawing tears from parents and guests alike.

This performance is more than just a surprise; it is highly valued by many brides and grooms as a "time to feel family bonds" and a "moment to look back on their lives so far."

## ■ Changing weddings around the world with Japan's "tear-jerking performance"

This project aims to bring "MemoReplay" to "weddings around the world," incorporating the culture, family values, and forms of love unique to each country. Can we move parents in other countries to tears just the same? This is a challenge to see if the Japanese "MemoReplay" format can resonate globally.

## ■ Yuya Yagira and Naomi Watanabe appointed as navigators

We are welcoming two internationally active figures as navigators for this series.

Actor Yuya Yagira, drawing on his own experience of getting married at 19, will deeply engage with the theme of "acting out one's life" and will also be in charge of providing acting guidance to the performers.

Meanwhile, the globally active Naomi Watanabe will use her English communication skills and unique sensibilities to bring out the charm of the international cast and participants.

## ■ Even if the country changes, a parent's love for their child remains the same

Even if the language is different, and even if the culture is different, the feeling of a parent thinking of their child is the same everywhere in the world.

Memories of childhood.
The way home, walking while holding hands.
The days they were scolded, and the days they were protected—everything was love.

MemoReplay recreates that "love that was too obvious to put into words" right before your eyes once again.

Whether in America, India, or Japan—at that moment, parents shed tears in the same way.

It is not because they are moved by the acting, but because they are overlapping it with their own lives.

What crosses borders is not the technique or the performance, but the one unchanging sentiment: "I am so glad you were born."

## ■ Future Developments

This project is a challenge to rewrite the common sense of weddings around the world.

First, we will establish MemoReplay production teams in major global cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, and Seoul, and develop "life-reenactment performances" tailored to each country's wedding culture.

We will produce "tear-jerking weddings" unique to each region, such as "dramatic, surprise-focused performances" in America, "highly artistic, stage-style MemoReplays" in Europe, and "story-driven types that deeply depict family love" in Asia.

Furthermore, we will solicit "life episodes" from couples around the world, and selected stories will be actually reenacted within the Netflix program. We will create a new value for weddings where "your own wedding is streamed to the world."

We will also establish a world tournament, the "Memory Play Wedding Award." This event, which will determine the "most tear-jerking wedding in the world," will bring together representative couples and production teams from each country, evolving into a new form of entertainment where stories of love and life compete.

And in the future—we want to make the culture of "acting out your life at a wedding" a global standard.

Not just a celebration, but a "time to look back on your life so far with the people you love."

Weddings will become the day you cry the most in your life.

We will take that common sense from Japan to the world.

## Comment from the Representative

Representative Director: Daisuke Murabe

We have felt the reality of Japanese people moving away from weddings at an accelerated pace over the last few years, due to the decline in weddings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the shrinking of ceremonies due to economic recession. Even so, I know that weddings are truly wonderful. I can say this from the bottom of my heart precisely because I have seen the tears of thousands of brides, grooms, and their families up close.

"MemoReplay" is a performance that gives shape to the essential value of weddings—the emotion of being a "place to express gratitude." We hope to continue creating weddings filled with many "thank yous" together with our brides and grooms.
