Penguin Colony Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness' and 'The Shadow Out of Time' - Beneath the Ice, an Ancient 'Something' Awakens

Today, developer ORIGAME DIGITAL and indie label Fellow Traveller released a new story trailer for 'Penguin Colony (Penguin Colony)', a Lovecraftian narrative horror set in Antarctica. The game is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness' and 'The Shadow Out of Time'.

The year is 1939. A flare burns across the Antarctic night sky.

In the frozen Antarctic wilderness, two opposing groups venture deep into the ice in search of an ancient 'something'. The Nazis seek power and proof of their superiority. The Kaitiaki (guardians) appear carrying a mission passed down through generations – to ensure that what sleeps beneath the ice never awakens.

Watching it all with curious black eyes is you, the penguin.

Through fragmented narration, environmental storytelling, and free exploration, you gradually witness the power-hungry Nazis descending into obsession, suspicion, and madness.

This story trailer delves deeper into the central conflict of the game, revealing the hostile forces at the heart of the Antarctic expedition and the impossible entity buried beneath the ice.

'Penguin Colony' is scheduled for release on PC via Steam later this year, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving shortly after launch. Additionally, the game will feature day-one localization in Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Te Reo Māori, and Arabic.
