■Comment from Toshihiko Atarashi
I am honored to have been appointed as an Outside Director of Sunwelz Inc.
The reason I accepted this position is that I believe the Company's PD House is a事業 (business) of great social significance for individuals facing Parkinson's disease and their families.
Caring for Parkinson's disease requires multifaceted and highly specialized support, including addressing symptom progression, daily medication management, continuous rehabilitation, and collaboration with specialized medical professionals. I feel a strong sense of mission and future potential in the PD House's approach, which directly confronts these challenges and realizes highly specialized care in a concrete form.
Before my appointment, my focus was on the nursing home and visiting nursing industries from the perspective of related systems and organizational management. However, my impression changed significantly, in a good way, after actually visiting the PD House facilities. What impressed me most was that the residents were spending their days calmly and positively, and that the staff were supporting their lives with high professionalism and sincerity.
At the facilities, I sensed a sincere commitment that goes beyond that of a mere care facility or visiting nursing provider, aiming to support the dignified lives of those facing the illness. The trust placed in us by residents and their families is built through the accumulation of daily, meticulous care, and I realize that this is due to the efforts and dedication of the on-site staff, as well as the accumulation of expertise within the organization.
I believe that Sunwelz has a solid foundation for further trust and growth. Moving forward, as an outside director, I will support the establishment of highly transparent management and sound governance, and I will also dedicate myself to building a management foundation that better leverages the strengths of our on-site operations.
It is my belief that achieving both of the following is paramount for Sunwelz's future: enabling residents and their families to feel "I can confidently entrust them here," and enabling our staff to feel "I can be proud to work for this company."
From a position that connects systems and the field, management and service quality, I will steadily fulfill my responsibilities to ensure Sunwelz grows into a company that is even more trusted by society.

What is PD House?
"PD House" is a specialized nursing care facility for Parkinson's disease.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurological disorder that causes a slow decline in motor function due to a decrease in dopamine in the brain. It is designated as a national intractable disease. While a complete cure is currently difficult, it is said that symptoms can be managed and progression slowed by combining drug therapy and rehabilitation. PD House limits its residents to those with Parkinson's disease (including related disorders) and aims to achieve "not 'cannot do because of Parkinson's disease,' but 'can do even with Parkinson's disease'" by providing rehabilitation programs supervised by specialists tailored to each resident, visiting medical care by neurologists, and 24-hour visiting nursing care, all with the goal of maintaining and improving motor function.
