Sun Village Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture; Representative Director: Choji Mimura; hereinafter 'the Company') announced at a press conference held on April 23, 2026, that it will advance a collaboration with DAIHEN Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President & CEO: Shoichiro Minomo; hereinafter 'DAIHEN') in the grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) business. Through this collaboration, the Company will adopt the BESS package developed by DAIHEN for grid-scale applications, and proceed with the development of projects with a total capacity of 2.4GWh, focusing on high-voltage connections.

[Features and Development Plan]

The DAIHEN battery package adopted in this initiative is a domestically produced product with major equipment—including power conditioning systems, batteries, transformers, grid connection facilities, and energy management systems (EMS)—developed in-house. It has obtained the 'JC-STAR★1' certification (*1). This certification system evaluates cybersecurity and operational reliability, and is scheduled to become a requirement for grid connection from April 2027 onwards. By adopting this system, the Company ensures high reliability and continuity in anticipation of future regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the greatest feature of this battery system is its low-noise performance, enabling operations that minimize the impact on the surrounding environment. It also boasts a compact design that facilitates easy transport and installation. This not only reduces noise mitigation costs but also contributes to expanding candidate sites for storage facilities, including areas close to residential zones, thereby accelerating development.

Based on this scheme, the Company plans to develop 6 high-voltage connected battery system projects (2MW x 8MWh) in FY2025, and plans to develop over 70 projects in FY2026.

[The Company's Initiatives and Future Outlook]

Since its founding in 2012, the Company has valued 'harmony and cooperation with local communities' and, under the policy of 'realizing safe and secure power plants', has been advancing the development and construction of solar power plants primarily in the northern Kanto region. In order to further popularize renewable energy, the introduction of batteries as a 'balancing resource' to ensure the stable operation of the power grid is considered a critical challenge. The Company is promoting the development and construction of grid-scale BESS not only in northern Kanto but across the country, setting a goal to achieve 250 locations and a total output of 500MW. Through this, we will contribute to the further adoption of renewable energy and the realization of a decarbonized society.
