From "Sunrockers Shibuya" to "TOKYO SUNROCKERS"! Primary Logo and Club Colors Also Renewed!

Sunrockers Shibuya, a team belonging to the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.LEAGUE) Division 1 (operated by Sunrockers Co., Ltd. / Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo / Representative Director and President: Yasunori Kanda), has decided to change its team name to "TOKYO SUNROCKERS" from the 2026-27 season. In conjunction with this, the club's primary logo will be renewed, and the main color will be refreshed to purple.

Sunrockers Shibuya has already announced its relocation of its home town from Shibuya Ward to Koto Ward in preparation for its entry into "B.LEAGUE PREMIER," which will start from the 2026-27 season. To coincide with this major milestone, the club is promoting a rebranding project across the entire group. Through repeated interviews with fans and players, the club has organized what should be preserved and what should be new, and as a result, has determined the club name, logo, and colors.

This season marks the 91st new start after completing the club's 90th anniversary. The final game at Aoyama Gakuin Memorial Hall, which has been their home arena for 10 seasons, has concluded, and all regular season games ended on May 3rd.

The opening game at the new home arena, TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, will be held on Friday, September 25th, welcoming the Chiba Jets.

By incorporating the voices of players, employees, the Sega Sammy Group, the production team, and our fans, and engaging in multi-faceted discussions, we have organized the values that Sunrockers should cherish.

This expresses our desire to move people's hearts through all experiences surrounding the club, not limited to basketball as a sport, but also including game productions, entertainment, and a sense of unity with fans.

The new club name has been decided as "TOKYO SUNROCKERS." This embodies our determination to leap from Shibuya Ward, which has been our home town for 10 seasons, to a club that represents the broader "Tokyo." With the club vision of "Towards a Tokyo culture that captivates people," we will fight under the name of "Tokyo," a global city.

◾️【New Main Color】Purple (ROCKER VIOLET)

While inheriting the "sun's yellow," which has been the club's symbol, as a sub-color, the main color will be refreshed to purple.

Purple is a color that combines red, which represents passion, and blue, which represents calmness. It was selected as a color that can simultaneously express enthusiasm and sophistication, as well as a "Tokyo-like" cultural identity.

Our new mission, "continue to deliver heart-stirring experiences," and our vision, "Towards a Tokyo culture that captivates people." These aspirations are embodied in purple.

The club also views this change as a "new dawn." The moment the Sunrockers' sun rises, the morning glow that dyes the Tokyo sky purple for an instant expresses our resolve for evolution.

◾️【New Primary Logo】Motif of "T" and "S," the initials of "TOKYO SUNROCKERS"

The design of the new primary logo was handled by KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN Co., Ltd., which has worked on designs for Ferrari and others.

The initials "T" and "S" of "TOKYO SUNROCKERS" are used as a motif, expressed with a powerful and rounded shape reminiscent of the sun. Also, with the intention of valuing the club's history, the founding year 1935 is engraved on the primary logo. The yellow line running around the perimeter symbolizes the sun's light, and the "S" extending from the center symbolizes the energy spreading to people and the city.
