From a place that creates the jazz of the future to a special 10th anniversary stage. Seiko Summer Jazz Camp launched in 2016 as a program to nurture young jazz musicians in Japan, and has since produced many artists who are expected to lead the next generation of the jazz scene. This year marks its 10th anniversary. To commemorate the milestone, a one-night-only special concert will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at I’M A SHOW in Yurakucho. Audiences can look forward to a special stage featuring young musicians who are energizing Japan’s jazz scene. Program: Part 1 will feature a special combo performance by representative members of the camp’s alumni group, “Seiko Jazz Campers.” Performers include Alto Sax: Riko Sasaki and Rei Kaneko; Piano: Otohito Fuse; Bass: Riku Takahashi; Drums: Kaito Nakamura. Part 2 will present a special stage by the alumni big band “Seiko Jazz Campers Orchestra,” conducted by Miho Hazama. Hazama, a New York-based composer, arranger, and conductor active internationally, serves as an instructor for the newly established composition and arrangement course this year. She has also drawn attention for her piece “Live Life This Day: Movement I,” which was nominated for Best Instrumental Composition at the 68th Grammy Awards. Audiences are invited to experience this special jazz concert with a stellar lineup celebrating the 10th anniversary.
