This performance is part of a musical reading drama series directed by Tetsu Taoshita, which has been staged at the TOKYO FM Hall since March 2018 and has garnered a significant response. The original work is Gaston Leroux's masterpiece, "The Phantom of the Opera." It is a classic that has been repeatedly translated and performed across all media, including films and musicals. Through the many words woven by the characters, we believe we can present a new world unique to this reading drama, which places a special emphasis on music. <Comment from Director Tetsu Taoshita> In 19th-century Paris, a series of bizarre incidents occurred at the Opera House, attributed to a mysterious phantom. It is said that the phantom hides a face so ugly that no one can bear to look at it beneath his mask. The phantom, possessing genius singing ability and a love for art, becomes infatuated with Christine, a beautiful young opera singer who is talented but has yet to become a top star.

Christine believes the phantom is the "Angel of Music" and takes lessons from him, growing into a prima donna, but one day, she discovers the secret the phantom hides beneath his mask.
