Hoppe-chan Anime Commemoration Sun Hoseki Fair to Be Held at tvk Kanagawa MIRAI Street 2026

Memory-Tech Tsukuba Co., Ltd.’s Interactive Content Division, Sun Hoseki, will hold the “Hoppe-chan Anime Commemoration Sun Hoseki Fair” from May 30 to May 31, 2026, inside tvk Kanagawa MIRAI Street 2026. The event is a collaborative pop-up shop featuring Sun Hoseki’s popular original character Hoppe-chan and the anime Hoppe-chan: The Secret of Sun Kingdom and the Black Hoppe Gang. Sun Hoseki and Hoppe-chan, both iconic parts of Heisei-era culture among elementary and junior high school girls in Japan, will return as a Reiwa-era family event. The project is also notable from the perspectives of Heisei retro, Y2K culture, parent-child consumption, and character business. The event will feature the first-ever Hoppe-chan kitchen truck, the popular “Puni Puni Lottery,” the first Sun Hoseki all-you-can-pack event, live squeezing demonstrations by “Hoppe-chan’s mother,” meet-and-greet opportunities with the Hoppe-chan mascot, anime screenings, and sales of related merchandise. Hoppe-chan is Sun Hoseki’s original character created in 2010, inspired by dessert decoration. Known for its cream-like squeezed shape and individually varied expressions and designs, it became popular especially among teen girls as a “character of your own.” With renewed interest in Heisei retro and Y2K culture, Hoppe-chan is now drawing attention both as a nostalgic character for those who knew it at the time and as a fresh form of cuteness for younger generations. The event will also offer Korea-exclusive “CANDY BONBON STICKER” items, anime-related goods, and classic original Hoppe-chan products. It will run from 11:00 to 17:00 on May 30 and from 10:00 to 16:00 on May 31, 2026, at venues including Nihon Odori and Yokohama Park as part of tvk Kanagawa MIRAI Street 2026.
