Sunrise Shirogahama in Akadomari, Minami-Sado, Sado City, Niigata to Begin Operations on April 1, 2026

Sun Frontier Sado Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sado City, Niigata; President: Tomoaki Horiguchi; hereinafter "the Company") has been appointed by Sado City as the designated manager for the accommodation facility "Sunrise Shirogahama" (which includes the Akadomari Shirogahama Onsen), located in Akadomari, Minami-Sado. The Company will begin operations on April 1, 2026. This marks the second facility the Company will manage in Sado City, following the "Donden Kogen Lodge Nature Resort."

Following the registration of the Sado Island Gold Mines as a World Heritage site in 2024, interest in Sado Island from both Japan and abroad has increased significantly. The Company is committed to operating this facility as a hub to promote regional charm through tourism, expand the number of visitors, and contribute to regional revitalization.

Since its establishment in 2017, the Company has operated various accommodation facilities that leverage their unique locations and characteristics, including the resort hotels "HOTEL OOSADO" and "HOTEL AZUMA" on the west coast of Sado Island, "Tabino Hotel Sado" in the center of the island, and the "Donden Kogen Lodge Nature Resort" on Mount Donden, one of the New 100 Famous Mountains of Japan. Furthermore, the Company promotes regional development projects centered on hotel and tourism businesses, while valuing collaboration with local residents. This includes managing transportation infrastructure such as taxis and rental cars, operating the "Sado Outdoor Base" to support island activities, and developing original Sado souvenirs and seafood processing businesses.

Minami-Sado/Akadomari, where "Sunrise Shirogahama" is located, is a region rich in marine resources, including Sado's premier red snow crab and northern shrimp (commonly known as sweet shrimp). It is also home to the Hokusetsu Sake Brewery, which produces the sake "YK35" famously loved by world-renowned actor Robert De Niro. The area is blessed with culinary attractions and attracts many tourists looking to enjoy seasonal delicacies.
