Mitsui O.S.K. Lines' Sunflower Ferry Co., Ltd. (President: Hirotoshi Ushioku) has obtained the first certification (No. 1) as a 'Welcome Baby Ferry' from Mikihouse Childcare Research Institute Co., Ltd. for its Sunflower Kurena & Murasaki (Osaka-Beppu Route). This marks the first such certification for a domestic ferry operator. The onboard facilities and service systems that ensure families with babies and young children can travel with peace of mind were highly evaluated. The company will continue to provide comfortable services to make family trips more accessible.
The 'Welcome Baby Ferry' is a certification system for ferries designed to allow parents to use them safely with young children. Based on 50 inspection criteria uniquely developed by Mikihouse Childcare Research Institute, dedicated certifiers board the ferry for inspection. Ferries scoring 40 points or more (1 point per item) are certified.
To commemorate obtaining the first certification, group company Sunflower Travel Co., Ltd.
