Charging LBIRD's battery is as simple as connecting it to a standard 100V household outlet. No dedicated charging stand or construction work is required. It's designed to seamlessly integrate into your daily routine—just plug it in before bed, and it's fully charged by morning. Charging takes approximately 7 to 8 hours. When fully charged, it can travel up to 50 km.

Estimated cost per charge

The LBIRD's battery capacity is 48V・13Ah (approx. 0.624 kWh). Calculated at an average household electricity rate of approximately 27 yen per kWh, the electricity cost for one full charge is around 17 yen (estimate; may vary depending on electricity company and plan).

For short-distance travel, almost no daily charging is needed

Typical daily travel distances—such as for shopping, hospital visits, or accompanying walks—are usually a few kilometers to about ten kilometers per trip. A full charge of 50 km can cover several days' worth of such daily movements. There's no need for a full charge every day; connecting to an outlet a few times a week is sufficient for daily use.

Economic rationality of electric mobility
