Sumally Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kosuke Kusakabe) has launched "Dokodemo Closet" (or "DokoClo"), a clothing storage service based out of cleaning stores, just ahead of the seasonal wardrobe change. In collaboration with White Express and Pony Cleaning, the service is available at a total of 144 stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Tochigi as of April 2026.

Even those who struggle with organizing their closets every season can now simply drop off their clothes at their usual cleaning store. The stored clothes are kept in a dedicated facility with controlled temperature and humidity and can be managed as a list on your smartphone. "Dokodemo Closet" is a service that provides the experience of having a "second closet" in a familiar place within your living area.

You can store clothes starting from a single item, with or without cleaning services. Stored items can be viewed with photos on the member site, and retrieval requests can be completed on your smartphone. This eliminates the anxiety of "forgetting what you've stored" and reduces the effort of managing and rotating a large amount of clothing.

You can request to retrieve items starting from a single piece of clothing, and choose between in-store pickup (free) or home delivery. This enables flexible clothing management tailored to the user's daily routine and lifestyle, delivering an experience as if your home closet has been expanded.

Starting in the spring of 2025, a pilot program was conducted at 20 White Express stores, confirming a positive response to the clothing storage experience originating from stores. Based on the insights gained, the service was refined, and the partnership was expanded to include Pony Cleaning, leading to the current rollout at 144 stores. Currently, the company is promoting a dense deployment, especially in urban condominium-heavy areas, to be integrated into daily routines, creating an environment where the entrance to delivery storage is accessible within one's living area and walking distance.
