Background of the Appointments
Currently, Shuri Soap Co., Ltd. operates 35 stores in total across Japan and overseas under its skincare brand “SuiSavon-Shuri Soap-”. The brand was founded in October 2016 and will mark its 10th anniversary this year.
Originally centered on call center operations, the company launched its own retail business to provide a supportive environment for female employees returning to work after maternity leave—this initiative led to the birth of “SuiSavon-Shuri Soap-”. Starting with gentle, family-friendly soaps, the brand now offers a wide range of skincare, body care, and hair care products that harness the natural blessings of Okinawa.
In May of this year, the company opened its first overseas store in Taiwan, marking its initial step into international markets.
Under its vision of “Let Okinawa become a place for the world,” the company is committed to becoming a globally recognized cultural brand originating from Okinawa. To achieve sustainable growth and further enhance corporate value, the company has transitioned into a new management structure. While empowering women was the original catalyst for the brand’s creation, the new leadership—including these two newly appointed female executives—will further strengthen operational momentum and drive the company toward greater growth and advancement.
Under this new structure, the company will further enhance its operational capabilities and continue striving toward sustained growth.
Message from the New Vice President, Erika Yaya
I am honored to have been appointed Executive Director (Vice President).
I remain committed to listening to our customers, engaging with on-the-ground realities, and working through challenges together with my colleagues. I now embrace these responsibilities with an even greater sense of duty and renewed determination.
Shuri Soap exists today thanks to every single person who supports us: our store team members who engage with customers every day, our headquarters team who continuously refine our brand, our partners who stand by us, and our beloved customers who choose us.
Guided by our core principle of “Be helpful. Take action.” and inspired by our vision of “Let Okinawa become a place for the world,” we have come this far.
My personal goal is to build the most attractive workplace in Okinawa—a company where people want to gather. Through this journey, I’ve come to deeply believe that a brand is not built by products or stores alone, but through trust and mutual support among people. That’s why I will continue to cherish our relationships—with our team members, partners, local communities, customers, and every individual connected to us. We are still halfway through our journey, and we have many more challenges to take on and dreams to realize.
Going forward, I will never forget gratitude, take the highest responsibility, stay closest to the front lines, and strive to make everyone connected to Shuri Soap a devoted fan—delivering Okinawan value to the world.

Message from President and CEO, Kyosuke Ogata
I am truly delighted that Erika Yaya, a founding member, has been appointed Vice President, and that Yukiuko Koori, who joined our company in 2023 and has served as Executive Officer since 2025, has been appointed Director.
Erika has been instrumental in Shuri Soap’s journey for the past 16 years, making significant contributions to both brand and organizational growth. Especially since the pandemic, as an executive overseeing operations of over 150 staff, she has strengthened on-site and organizational capabilities, powerfully driving the company’s revenue and profit growth. More recently, she played a key role in launching our first overseas store in Taiwan and continues to lead this new venture as General Manager of the Taiwan branch.
Since joining in 2023, Yukiuko has tackled various strategic challenges at the core of our management, significantly contributing to business improvements, efficiency, and overall foundation strengthening.
With the appointment of two female executives—Vice President and Director—we are further committed to creating a workplace where women can thrive.
I am confident that Shuri Soap will move forward with even greater unity and strength toward becoming a globally recognized cultural brand from Okinawa.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and patronage of Shuri Soap under its new leadership.
