CULUMU, an inclusive design studio operated by STYZ Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tatsuya Tanaka), will hold a talk event titled "'Participant-centric Idea' x NIKKEN Inclusive Design" at "PYNT", a co-creation platform operated by Nikken Sekkei Ltd., in conjunction with the publication of the book "Participant-centric Idea: Who is your 'for someone else' for?" (Cross Media Publishing), co-authored by our members and external experts, to be published on April 17, 2026.
At this event, three authors of the book and the inclusive design team from Nikken Sekkei will take the stage to explore new ways of value creation in architecture, cities, and organizations, starting from the perspective of "thinking together with the participants". It will be a place to discuss the possibilities of social implementation through connection with practice, rather than merely introducing the philosophy.

■ Background of the Event
In recent years, while "diversity" and "inclusion" are emphasized in corporate activities and community development, there are many cases where they remain as mere "consideration" and do not connect to value creation. The book "Participant-centric Idea" proposes to question the well-intentioned design of "for someone else" and reconstruct the question itself from the perspective of the participants.
On the other hand, at Nikken Sekkei, the practice of inclusive design based on the premise of participant involvement is advancing, and initiatives to incorporate "co-creation" into the design process are expanding.
This event positions itself as an open co-creation space inside and outside the company, connecting these philosophies and practices.
