STYZ Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Tatsuya Tanaka), operating the inclusive design studio "CULUMU," has fully renewed its website and launched a new media, "Journal of Stakeholder-Driven Ideas" (当事者発想ジャーナル), on April 1, 2026.

This renewal is not merely a website refresh; it is intended to open up to society the practical know-how we have cultivated with companies and stakeholders, which enables "business creation from N=1." We will broadly disseminate the value of inclusive design and offer concrete insights to all those engaged in business development and solving social challenges.

About the New Media "Journal of Stakeholder-Driven Ideas"

**About Stakeholder-Driven Ideas**

Stakeholder-driven ideas begin not by viewing problems from the outside, but by understanding the experiences, emotions, and backgrounds from the perspective of those in the situation. It emphasizes a bidirectional, co-creative approach to building the future together with individuals, rather than a unidirectional approach of "doing for" someone. In particular, by designing from the perspective of people who have been overlooked, it ultimately leads to valuable solutions for many. The essence of this approach is to view social issues not as "someone else's problem" but as "our own problem."

The "Journal of Stakeholder-Driven Ideas" was launched as a platform to disseminate real-world knowledge (co-creative knowledge) gained from practical experience. We will deliver diverse content, starting with the following series, for everyone involved in business development, product planning, and DE&I promotion.

---

Main Series Lineup

### ① Inclusive Product Frontline: How Products Change Society

We delve into the forefront of how products, designed based on specific physical characteristics or life backgrounds, create a "curb-cut effect" that changes mass market rules and even social systems. This is explored through the voices of developers and users.

The first article is an exclusive interview with the development team of Elecom Co., Ltd.'s "Mobile Battery with Haptic Feedback," launched in November 2025.

---

### ② Social Innovation Driven by N=1: Implementing Stakeholder Voices in Society

We reveal the methodology of change, starting from the "N=1 sense of discomfort" that triggers large social issues, where individuals with deep personal stakes engage communities and transform systems across government, private sectors, and NPOs, using real-world examples.

This interview explores the background and challenges behind the development of "IKOU Portable Chair," an inclusive design case by Halu Inc., which materialized the desire of diverse families to "go out."

---

### ③ The Field Study of Co-Creation: Realities and Methodologies of Consensus Building

For complex issues that cannot be solved by a single organization, how do companies, governments, and citizens collaborate? We visualize the real conflicts and facilitation techniques in the field, such as "designing questions" that leverage discrepancies in values among stakeholders, and common patterns of consensus failure.

This is a practical knowledge article that examines how behavioral economics can be used as a common language for "consensus building" in co-creation settings, based on the premise of human irrationality.

Message on the Launch of the Journal of Stakeholder-Driven Ideas

Shunsuke Kawai, Representative of Inclusive Design Studio CULUMU

In launching the Journal of Stakeholder-Driven Ideas, what we value most is not "providing answers" but "opening up questions." In society and projects, there are rarely simple correct answers. That is why, instead of converging on a single conclusion, it is important to create room for continuous thought by bringing together diverse practices and perspectives.

Through this media, we will carefully unearth valuable practices that already exist in society, not limited to our own initiatives, and convey the philosophies and processes behind them. Our hope is that this will spark new questions in readers, leading to the expansion of new relationships and the social implementation of co-creation.
