此次活動的採用契機,源於立命館大學 食管理學部部長石田雅芳先生(同時也是慢食協會義大利總部前工作人員)在京都舉辦的學習會上邂逅了「asanoha」。由於其部分原材料利用了麻稈(オガラ)作為副產品,加上充滿日本風格的麻葉圖案設計,以及使用後可回收再利用而非成為垃圾的特性,這些都讓主辦方深感共鳴,認為其非常適合本次活動,因此促成了這次的採用。

本次活動中,舉辦了名為「SOBA: L’ARTE GIAPPONESE DEL GUSTO CHE CONQUISTA IL MONDO(蕎麥:征服世界的日本美味藝術)」的講座。講座以象徵日本歷史與文化的代表性料理蕎麥為媒介,旨在讓參與者了解其自古以來的製法與職人技藝,並以此為表現,使用了「asanoha」作為器皿。在蕎麥製作示範過程中,石田部長透過傳單和看板介紹了「asanoha」。
