A high school student from 'First off Projects,' a business community for high school and university students, has released 'entity,' a media art project that digitally represents open data related to social issues. Currently, two pieces are publicly available on the web and can be freely viewed in a browser.
**■ entity (PC only)** https://entity.studymeter.jp/
This media art allows anyone to intuitively experience the current state of society through a browser by visualizing complex social issue data with a "tangible volume" and in a "fragmented form." The creator, a high school student, started with a personal interest in social issues and, while learning 3D modeling and development techniques, completed two works in about four months from conception.
This work is also scheduled to be exhibited at the 'First off Projects' booth, 'Bokutachi no Chou-Mirai Kenkyushitsu' (Our Super Future Lab), at the Niconico Chokaigi 2026, held at Makuhari Messe on Saturday, April 25th, and Sunday, April 26th. Please take this opportunity to talk directly with the developer and experience it at the venue.

**Work 1: 'Invisible Water' — The Weight of Water Held in a Sphere**
Much of the water we use daily is not from the tap but is hidden in the production processes of food, clothing, and industrial products. This work visualizes the water footprint (the total amount of water used to produce products) of each country as a sphere. The larger the water load, the larger and darker the sphere becomes. It questions the existence of 'invisible water,' which is difficult to convey through numbers, in a form close to a physical sensation.
**Work 2: 'Soccer Balls and World Labor' — A Shattered Ball Revealing an Unseen Supply Chain**
'Soccer balls' symbolize peace and the joy of sports. However, before they reach us, countless processes, from cotton cultivation to sewing and packaging, are divided among countries worldwide. Child labor in the sewing process has been reported in countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, China, and Thailand, while risks at the raw material stage have been reported in places like Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. This work questions this reality as a problem of the global supply chain, including Japan.
**Planned and Developed by a High School Student**
A major feature of this service is that a high school student belonging to FoPs handled everything from planning to development alone. The creator, who has an interest in social issues, came up with the idea out of a desire to 'convey the complex state of society to everyone in an easy-to-understand way,' and gave it form while learning 3D modeling and development skills.
Going forward, the plan is to continuously create and release works that convey various social issues based on the 'entity' concept.
