"Haya" (Business Name: Studio N / Headquarters: Moriyama-ku, Nagoya City) supports April Dream, an initiative to share dreams on April 1st. This press release is Haya's dream.

Our Dream

We want to create scents for each of the 47 prefectures and spread a daily life that feels like traveling through Japan.

We aim to reflect the charm and culture of each region in its scent and deliver the richness of a life enriched by fragrance.

To make this dream a reality, we will continue to create scents by engaging with each land and plant, weaving a future that leads to regional revitalization.

Background of Our Dream

The background of our scent creation stems from an experience where we felt our minds become centered upon encountering the scents of Japan's four seasons, landscapes, and the plants that grow in each region.

Fragrance quietly influences our senses and memories, impacting our state of mind and how we spend our days.

The scents born from plants embody the air, climate, and culture of their origin. We view the act of capturing the unique scents of plants from across Japan as a means of conveying the value of each region.

Our Efforts to Date

At Haya's own laboratory in Nagoya, we have consistently handled everything from material selection to distillation and perfumery, shaping the blessings of plants into scents.

We have created scents utilizing regional materials, distilling over 60 types of plants from approximately 30 regions. We have engaged with plants from various areas, primarily the Tokai region (Aichi, Gifu, Mie prefectures), including Kiso Hinoki from Nagano Prefecture, Natsumikan from Aichi Prefecture, and Yuzu from Gifu Prefecture, extending from Aomori in the north to Kagoshima in the south.

In addition to our own products, we have undertaken numerous custom distillation requests.

Our project, "Traveling Japan with Scents," is also progressing. This project involves carefully distilling the fragrances of plants nurtured by the changing seasons, crafting them into essential oils, and layering the story of each land into every drop. Initiatives to convey regional charm are expanding, such as the scent of Aichi's Natsumikan being adopted as an in-room amenity for the luxury cruise ship 'Asuka III' and as a hometown tax donation return gift for Nagoya City.

We have also been engaged in activities to communicate the value of a life enriched by fragrance through distillation experiences, workshops, and experiential programs with companies and local governments.

We carefully utilize the plants after distillation, developing dyed products called "Somenokoe" using the residual liquid. The residue is returned to the earth, and we continue our scent creation rooted in natural cycles.

Future Initiatives

Moving forward, we will continue to engage with the lands of all 47 prefectures and carefully distill the scents of plants rooted in each region.

Even with the same plant, the scent varies depending on the origin and growing environment. We will continue to create scents while respecting each of these unique characteristics.

We will collaborate with companies, local governments, and farmers to co-create unique regional scents and expand them to various areas.

We will further deepen and broaden opportunities to experience scents and regional charm through hands-on programs such as distillation and perfumery.

We will advance initiatives that express the climate of each of the 47 prefectures as scents, allowing people to feel as if they are traveling through Japan.

The goal of our dream is not limited to creating scents from all 47 prefectures. Through scents born from Japan's regional resources, we aim to convey the landscapes and charms of those lands, leading to regional revitalization.
