Thank you all for coming today despite your busy schedules to celebrate the opening of this museum.
I am 98 years old. I was born and raised in Yamanashi, experienced the Kofu air raids, and founded Sanrio's predecessor, the Yamanashi Silk Center, in 1960 with the belief that "People cannot live alone. Therefore, let's live by helping each other and getting along." That was 66 years ago.
This time, I have decided to preserve my experiences from the founding period, Sanrio's history, and my own personal story, which has not been widely told, here in Yamanashi.
I would be happy if this becomes a place that attracts interested people. I also hope that by having this museum in town, it will flourish as a town that attracts new visitors.
