The 2026 New Taipei City Children's Art Festival 'Monster Jungle' will take place from July 13 to 19. This year's activities will be held at the City Hall, New Taipei City Citizens' Plaza, Fuzhong Square, and various art and cultural venues under the New Taipei City Government's Cultural Bureau. The festival will offer a rich variety of exhibitions, performances, hands-on activities, and interactive experiences, inviting children of all ages to explore the world of monsters, learn through play, and embark on a summer adventure that combines art, adventure, and creativity. The New Taipei Children's Art Festival 'Monster Jungle' features five main theme areas: the 'Voice Forest Stage,' showcasing performances from both domestic and international artists; the 'Phantom Beast Valley,' displaying large-scale art installations; the 'Jungle Story House,' suitable for parent-child reading and storytelling; the 'Monster Base,' combining technology and interactive experiences; and the 'Fantasy Island,' filled with challenges and surprises. From day to night, the festival will offer a variety of content, including tech art, interactive installations, and performance art, creating an immersive parent-child experience that is both artistic and entertaining, allowing children of all ages to fully explore the magical allure of the Monster Jungle. On July 18 and 19, Kaiju will appear at the 'Fantasy Island' in Fuzhong Square, interacting and having fun with children of all ages. (Image: New Taipei City Government Cultural Bureau) Among these, the 'Fantasy Island' at Fuzhong Square will be open from 4 PM to 9 PM daily from July 13 to 19, inviting children of all ages to transform into little explorers and embark on quests with their monster companions. By collecting energy, solving challenges, and completing interactive experiences, they will step by step explore the secrets of the monster world, creating an immersive adventure journey that combines gaming and art. The venue will also feature the 'Dream Never Falls Plaza' interactive performance space, inviting the O Theater Group to present a performance that combines drama, physical theater, and interactivity, accompanying parents and children in completing their exploration tasks. On July 18 and 19, Kaiju will appear at the 'Fantasy Island' in Fuzhong Square, interacting and having fun with children of all ages, and completing adventure tasks, inviting parents and children to seize the opportunity to meet up close. The Meili Yong'an Art and Culture Center will present 'The World of Light and Shadow,' exhibiting 'The Artist in the Enchanted Forest: A World of Glowing Light and Shadow' from July 13 to 26. Through experiences such as glow-in-the-dark drawing boards, projections, split lights, and co-creation interactions, children will be guided to explore the wondrous world of light and shadow changes. The Xinban Art Gallery will focus on the theme 'The Artist in the Enchanted Forest: A World of Strange Imaginations,' combining art creation, stamp tasks, and immersive projection interactions to encourage children to unleash their creativity and create their own monster characters. The New Taipei City Art and Culture Center will create 'Thunder Forest,' presenting 'Thunder Universe Grand Adventure' from July 3 to 26, gathering popular characters from Thunder Glove Puppetry. The center will feature the PILIGILI interactive experience area, Thunder Universe cinema, puppet experience, and hands-on courses, leading children of all ages to observe, explore, and practice, recognizing the craftsmanship of glove puppetry and Taiwan's traditional culture. The Xinzhuang Literary Center will present 'Drum Town,' themed around the century-old drum brand 'Xiang Renhe' in Xinzhuang. Through interactive displays, DIY workshops, and the 'Drum Festival' and other fun activities, it will lead parents and children to recognize drum culture and feel the charm of drum art through games.
