[Additional Recruitment Decided Due to Popularity!] First Collaborative Plogging Event between "International Yoga Day Nagoya" and "Alpen NAGOYA"!

Alpen Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Atsuyuki Mizuno), a sporting goods retailer, will hold its first collaborative event with "International Yoga Day Nagoya" at its flagship store "Alpen NAGOYA" in conjunction with International Yoga Day on June 21.

This event will feature "plogging", a combination of jogging and litter picking, as part of the International Yoga Day Nagoya program, starting and ending at the venue. The aim is to combine yoga, which nurtures one's mind and body, with plogging, which beautifies the city, to spread a circle of well-being throughout the local community.

Event reservations had already begun and were fully booked with nearly 100 applications, but additional recruitment will start today.

■ Background of the Event: Alpen's Journey to Protect the "Field" for Enjoying Sports

The Alpen Group first encountered "plogging", an activity that allows people to contribute to the environment while enjoying sports, in 2020 when it launched the "Alpen GREEN PROJECT" to protect the natural environment. Since then, as an activity embodying our purpose of "Making Sports More Accessible", we have continued to hold plogging events annually in various locations. To date, the cumulative number of participants in plogging activities we have organized or sponsored has reached 6,599 people (including online events), combining employees and general participants. This continuous effort resonated with the philosophy of "International Yoga Day Nagoya", which aims for harmony between the community and mind and body, leading to this first collaboration.

■ What is Plogging?

It is a portmanteau of the English word "jogging" and the Swedish phrase "plocka upp" (to pick up). This activity of picking up litter while running adds a "squatting motion" to regular jogging, providing a higher fitness effect. It is enjoyed worldwide, especially in Europe, as an activity that anyone, even those not good at running, can enjoy while contributing to the global environment.

■ Plogging Event Overview

Participants will tour the Sakae and Yaba-cho areas with plogging, based at "Alpen NAGOYA".

Date and Time: Sunday, June 21, 2026, 9:00 AM - 11:45 AM (Reception starts at 8:30 AM)

Start/End Point: Yaba Park (Next to Alpen NAGOYA: 3-18-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture)

Activity Details: Plogging will be conducted in the following groups, starting and ending at Yaba Park, mainly in the Sakae area:
・Leisurely Stroll Course (approx. 2km)
・Light Jogging Course (approx. 5km)
・Expert Running Course (approx. 10km)
