Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety (QCDS) are indicators that should ideally be met simultaneously, yet why do they often collapse in the design field? Overlooks despite similar considerations or troubles in the past, unexpected defects or constraints noticed in the latter half of design—such rework is not a matter of individual skill or attentiveness, but rather stems from "structural issues" such as individual-dependent judgments reliant on the experience and intuition of veterans, and insufficient utilization of information dispersed inside and outside the company.
In this seminar, we will unravel the background of QCDS collapse and explain concrete methods for identifying causes often overlooked in the design field and linking them seamlessly to solutions. Furthermore, we will introduce an approach that leverages AI agents to comprehensively capture past design assets, trouble information, and external information such as papers, patents, and regulations, thereby visualizing risks and key issues from the initial stages of design.
We will move away from relying on individual-dependent judgments to repeatable decision-making based on information and evidence. We will present a new form of design and development process that simultaneously satisfies QCDS while preventing rework, illustrated with concrete examples.
