Currently, at the Osaka City Museum of Natural History's exhibition "New Acquisitions: Exhibition of Handheld Devices as Partners for Expo Experience," from March 26 (Thursday) to April 12 (Sunday), some of the cards used for the AR (Augmented Reality) experience "Gochamaze Orchestra," a component of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo signature pavilion "Playground of Life Jellyfish Pavilion" (hereinafter referred to as "Jellyfish Pavilion"), will be exhibited. Furthermore, during the exhibition period, irregularly, there will also be scheduled times when visitors can experience "Gochamaze Orchestra" using AR cards (a selection of 5 cards). The AR experience "Gochamaze Orchestra" is a product planned and developed by steAm Inc. (Location: Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Sachiko Nakajima, hereinafter "steAm") in collaboration with the Jellyfish Pavilion team and Hikarinokuni Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Hikarinokuni").
"Gochamaze Orchestra" was permanently installed last year on the ground floor of the Jellyfish Pavilion, "Fluctuating Field of Life," as one of the interactive and playful devices that utilize the five senses. This concept was expanded by Sachiko Nakajima, who served as the pavilion's producer, from her idea of an "Augmented Music Playground" during her work in media art in NY. At the exhibition venue in the Jellyfish Pavilion, it became a very popular playground where people of different generations gathered to enjoy the sounds and visuals created by holding multiple cards in front of the camera. This mechanism has been partially carried over after the Expo into products such as an AR version of the picture book "Clara and the Imaginary Tree" and AR picture book cards, and is now something that anyone can enjoy in daily life. The cards are provided by Hikarinokuni, and various artists, including picture book authors, have drawn colorful illustrations. The AR software is provided by steAm (cooperation: T&S Co., Ltd.), and the sound sources are recordings of performances by musicians, mainly from KURAGE Band (steAm).
