The Sankuzeru Foundation (Headquarters: 2249-1 Hirata, Shinano Town, Kamiminuchi District, Nagano Prefecture; Representative Director: Mayumi Kuze; hereinafter referred to as 'the Foundation') has decided on the grant recipients for the 2nd 'Creating a Table of Love and Joy' Grant Program (FY2026) for children's cafes and related organizations in Nagano Prefecture.
While activities supporting children through food are expanding in Nagano Prefecture, the impact of recent price hikes and other factors has made securing funds for these activities a major challenge. In light of this situation, after selection by the selection committee, grants totaling 5 million yen were decided for a total of 22 organizations.
Background and Purpose of the Grant Program
In the first grant program, despite a short application period, many applications were received from various parts of the prefecture. This revealed that while activities supporting children through food are expanding in Nagano Prefecture, securing activity funds is a major challenge for each organization.
Furthermore, in learning about the reality of support activities through food, the importance of individual food delivery to households in need was recognized, and it was also found that many organizations target not only children but also the elderly, placing intergenerational exchange at the center of their activities.
In light of these situations and new insights, the Foundation decided to continue the grant program. This second program aims to support activities that not only fill stomachs but also hearts through 'food with love'.
Specifically, the program supports non-profit organizations and individuals who engage in activities that create synergistic effects such as 'preventing isolation', 'creating places to belong', and 'intergenerational exchange' for people who need support across a wide range of generations, including children and the elderly, with 'food support' as the starting point.
Overview of Selection Results
For this second program, two grant courses were established according to the scale and role of the organizations' activities.
Applications were received from various parts of the prefecture, and after selection by the selection committee, 22 organizations (total grant amount: 5 million yen) were decided as grant recipients.
