CMM & SWAN to Release Compilation Album 'Mixtape' on April 1st!

Compilation work "Mixtape" by beatmaker CMM and rapper/trackmaker SWAN will be released on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

This work is a collection of 12 tracks that three-dimensionally present the duo's "current position," adding new tracks to previously released songs. CMM is a beatmaker who has pursued energetic and aggressive sounds centered on dance music, sublimating various genres like Boombap, Lo-Fi, Trap, and Drill into a unique texture.

On the other hand, SWAN, hailing from Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, became devoted to hip-hop after encountering KREVA's album "Ai/Jibun-baku." He has garnered support for his down-to-earth lyrics through self-produced works like "Prologue" and "GarakutaSpace:01."

In this "Mixtape," conflicting elements such as aggression and introspection, impulse and blank space coexist. Various approaches intersect, from emotional guitars and heavy 808s to sampling of 70s Japanese vintage (Wamono) and City Pop, and classical sample usage.

This is not just a best-of album. Past songs are rearranged within the timeframe of "now," taking on new meanings. It is a work of redefinition where CMM's diversity and SWAN's reality intersect.

A fusion of emotional guitar samples and Drill beats. Depicts feelings toward former "friends" and realistically expresses emotions swaying between loneliness and connection. A work that feels like "going to meet someone through music."
