[Comprehensive Guide] 2nd Digital Skill Standard (DSS) ver.2.0 Revision Seminar: Do We Need Data Management Talent and How to Develop It? (June 25)

STANDARD Inc., which supports the Digital Transformation (DX) and insourcing of over 1,500 companies, primarily large enterprises, will hold a webinar on Thursday, June 25, 2026, regarding the Digital Skill Standard (DSS) ver.2.0 published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and IPA in April 2026.

■ Seminar Overview
The DSS ver.2.0, released in April 2026, has newly established a "Data Management Type." With the explicit inclusion of three roles—Data Steward, Data Architect, and Data Engineer—we have received many inquiries such as, "Are these roles necessary for our company?" and "How do they differ from existing data scientists?"

In this seminar, we will clarify what the newly established data management type entails, its relationship with the data literacy required for all business professionals in the AX (AI Transformation) era, and its functional differences from data scientists.

Rather than just introducing definitions, we will share concrete approaches to "who should be assigned these missions and how to develop them," based on STANDARD's experience supporting over 1,500 companies and numerous successes in developing data management talent.

■ Key Themes
In previous DSS versions, data scientist development was the primary focus, leading many companies to prioritize only data scientists. However, as DSS ver.2.0 indicates, organizational data utilization cannot advance if personnel who make data usable are not functional before the analysts and users arrive.

Furthermore, many companies struggle to translate DSS into their own DX talent strategies, often finding that applying role definitions directly leads to "too many types of talent to realistically develop" or "confusion within the company regarding who should assume which role."

In this seminar, starting from the meaning behind the new data management type, we will dig deeper into how to think about necessary talent profiles and development plans, incorporating STANDARD's insights and support examples.
