Contemporary Artist Keita Morimoto Appointed Creative Advisor for Stack Co., Ltd.

Both excellent software and excellent art fundamentally involve "questioning existing frameworks and presenting new interpretations to society." To "be creative" is a thought process that elevates hypotheses born from this questioning into a form that can be communicated to people. This is where it differs from mere reproduction.

Contemporary art is an excellent means to cultivate the idea that "one's own assumptions are not the only correct answer." Through this collaboration with Mr. Morimoto, we aim to learn from his thought process, which transforms everyday life into extraordinary narratives, and apply it to the rebuilding of our own products and operations.

◼️ Keita Morimoto: Profile and Comment

Born in Osaka in 1990. Moved to Canada in 2006 and graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design University (now OCAD University) in 2012. After working in Canada, he returned to Japan in 2021 and is currently based in Tokyo. Morimoto has a strong interest in and has studied Baroque painting, early 20th-century American Realism, and the techniques and themes of classical genre painting. Referencing these traditions, he transforms ordinary scenes of modern urban life into extraordinary narratives. By symbolically depicting "light," he merges its sacred and universal nature with the harsh realities of consumer culture, creating works that resonate with historical depth and contemporary complexity. Morimoto's works have been exhibited at institutions such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, K11 MUSEA, Long Museum, Art Gallery of Peterborough, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. His collections also include the Shiga Museum of Art, Arts Maebashi, High Museum of Art (USA), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Italy), and the Museum of Contemporary Art Miami (USA).

Mr. Fukuda, the CEO, has been a supporter of my work for about five years, and I have long been very interested in Stack's efforts to build online systems.
