Our organization supports "April Dream," an initiative that encourages people to share their dreams on April 1st. This press release represents the dream of the "SSOJ (Spatial Designers Support Organization of Japan)."

SSOJ is an organization established in 2024 to support the Japanese spatial design industry.

Our activities began with the desire to loosely connect diverse fields involved in spatial design—such as architecture, landscape, interior, lighting environments, products, and environmental art—while delivering the charm and value of Japanese spatial designers to both domestic and international audiences.

Since our inception, SSOJ has listened to the voices of those in the field and has steadily accumulated initiatives tailored to practical needs. This accumulation has gradually generated empathy, naturally expanding our network of members, supporting organizations, educational institutions, media, and design awards. Blessed with a diverse board of directors, our future potential continues to grow.

In Japan, there are still few mechanisms that connect spatial design across different fields. That is why SSOJ aims to be a "flexible hub" where people and ideas can meet, and new value can be created.

To ensure that designers and related businesses can focus on their creative work with greater peace of mind, we have established a consultation system covering legal, intellectual property, tax, labor, and company incorporation matters.

Additionally, we are working to create opportunities for new work and collaborations through design matching. We are also focusing on publishing activities, releasing the "Annual of Japanese Spatial Designers" to the world. The next edition is scheduled for a simultaneous global release on Amazon on April 15, 2026.

We hope that each individual's creation will cross borders and lead to new encounters and opportunities. SSOJ intends to continue being an entity that opens up the future of Japanese spatial design while connecting with the world. We will continue our journey, cherishing this vision.

Currently, SSOJ is advancing partnerships and network building with the following organizations and institutions: - Business France - Invest Hong Kong - Embassy of Spain, Economic and Commercial Office - A’ Design Award - Sky Design Awards - DFA Awards - Dezeen Awards 2026 - Merci Media - Yuan Ze University (Taiwan) - FIND – Design Fair Asia - HJC – Hospitality Japan Conference

Through these connections, we aim to help Japanese spatial design engage with the world more naturally, fostering new encounters and possibilities.

SSOJ will continue to value cross-disciplinary collaboration and practical support, contributing to the further development of the Japanese spatial design industry and the expansion of its international recognition. We hope that the stage for each designer's success will expand more freely and significantly.
