Our organization endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is a dream of "SSOJ (Japan Spatial Designer Support Organization)".

SSOJ (Japan Spatial Designer Support Organization) was established in 2024 as an organization to support the Japanese spatial design industry.

We want to loosely connect diverse fields involved in spatial design, such as architecture, landscape, interior, lighting environment, product, and environmental art, and deliver the charm and value of Japanese spatial designers both domestically and internationally.
Our activities began with this aspiration.

Since its establishment, SSOJ has listened to voices from the field and steadily accumulated initiatives closely aligned with practical work. This accumulation has gradually generated empathy, and the network of members, sponsoring organizations, educational institutions, media, and design awards has naturally expanded. Blessed with diverse board members, the possibilities for the future are further expanding.

In Japan, there are still not many mechanisms that connect spatial design across different fields.
That is why SSOJ aims to be a "loose hub" where people and ideas meet, and new value is created.

To help designers and related businesses engage in creation with greater peace of mind,
we have established a consultation system for legal, intellectual property, tax, labor, and company establishment matters.

We are also working to create opportunities for new work and collaborations through design matching. Furthermore, we are focusing on publishing activities, disseminating the "Japan Spatial Designer Yearbook" to the world. The next edition is scheduled for global simultaneous release on Amazon on April 15, 2026.

We hope that each individual's creation will reach across borders, leading to new encounters and opportunities.
SSOJ will continue to connect with the world and open up the future of Japanese spatial design. We will continue our efforts, valuing this vision.

Currently, SSOJ is promoting collaboration and networking with the following organizations and institutions:
- Business France
- Invest Hong Kong
- Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain
- A’ Design Award
- Sky Design Awards
- DFA Awards
- Dezeen Awards 2026
- Merci Media
- Yuan Ze University, Taiwan
- FIND – Design Fair Asia
- HJC – Hospitality Japan Conference

Through these connections, we aim for Japanese spatial design to naturally interact with the world, creating new encounters and possibilities.

SSOJ will continue to contribute to the further development of the Japanese spatial design industry and the expansion of its international recognition, valuing cross-field collaboration and practical support.
And we hope that the opportunities for each designer to play an active role will expand more freely and widely.
