Starting Wednesday, June 17, 2026, we are pleased to announce the launch of the 'Majimaguri Eel Fair.' Guests can enjoy premium 'wild-caught live-fresh majimaguri eel' prepared as tender, melt-in-your-mouth simmered eel (ni-anago) or freshly fried crispy tempura. Additionally, the 'Sudachi Cold Dipping Udon/Soba,' served with a refreshing, chilled premium dashi generously topped with sudachi citrus, delivers a cool, refreshing taste perfect for summer. About the Tamagoyaki & O-Dashi Himawari Brand
Launched in November 1989 as 'Kyochabo Himawari' on the 3rd floor of Izumiya Shirauume-cho Store near Kyoto's Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, the brand began as a relaxing dining spot for shoppers. The signature tamagoyaki (Akashiyaki) faithfully recreates the authentic taste of Akashi, using fresh eggs, carefully selected wheat flour and jin-koh (potato starch), and dashi made from Kyushu bonito and Hokkaido kelp. Each order is grilled on a custom-made copper plate with high thermal conductivity, resulting in a uniquely fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
With the concept of 'Enriching Daily Life,' the brand was rebranded in 2022 to emphasize freshly grilled tamagoyaki and dashi broth carefully prepared daily in-store, aiming to deliver small moments of happiness through delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine.
