On March 29, 2026, SPRIX Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Tsuneishi; hereinafter "SPRIX") held the final ceremony for its national mathematics and programming competition, which utilizes the international academic assessment "TOFAS (Test Of Fundamental Academic Skills)," at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a leading science and engineering university in Vietnam.
The final ceremony held at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (attended by approximately 1,000 people)
The event brought together students and parents from across the country, with approximately 1,000 people in attendance. The number of participants in the final tournament has tripled compared to last year, symbolizing the growing interest in fundamental academic assessment and STEM education in Vietnam.
The competition was held from October 2025 to March 2026 in collaboration with BK Fintech, an advanced research institute at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and saw a total of over 12,000 students participate. Hosting the event within the academic environment of one of Vietnam's premier science and engineering universities further enhances the credibility and value of the competition.
Background and Purpose
In recent years, Vietnam has placed significant importance on STEM education and the development of logical thinking skills, with a particular demand for strengthening fundamental academic skills in mathematics and programming.
To meet these needs, SPRIX Vietnam, in collaboration with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology and BK Fintech, organized this competition using TOFAS, an international assessment of fundamental academic skills, with the goal of visualizing each student's academic ability and increasing their motivation to learn.
This competition is positioned not merely as a contest, but as an opportunity for students, parents, and educational institutions to come together and reaffirm the importance of fundamental academic skills.

Comments
Mr. Nguyen Binh Minh, Director of the Institute of Digital Technology and Economics, Hanoi University of Science and Technology
I recognize TOFAS as a highly reliable and meaningful academic competition. This event provides excellent learning opportunities in both mathematics and programming, contributing to the improvement of students' abilities while serving as a valuable venue for learning how to apply that knowledge in the technology sector. I look forward to seeing TOFAS continue to expand in scale and influence, and I believe it will become an important venue for future preparation, rather than just a competition.
Shinya Sayu, General Manager of the Overseas Division, SPRIX Inc.
Through this competition, I felt a very high level of motivation from Vietnamese parents and students in the fields of mathematics and programming, which are the focus of TOFAS. I feel that these are strongly recognized as essential fundamental academic skills for the upcoming AI era.
Starting this April, in addition to full Vietnamese language support for TOFAS, we will also be rolling out our digital learning platform, "SPRIX Learning." By using the visualization of academic ability provided by TOFAS as a starting point, we will lead to the discovery and improvement of learning challenges, and through continuous learning with SPRIX Learning, we will realize the consolidation and improvement of fundamental academic skills.
