Spiral Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director Group CEO: Noriaki Satani), a leader in optimizing the future through digital means, developed and provided the voting system for Tsukuba City's (Mayor: Tatsuo Igarashi; hereinafter "Tsukuba City") 2025 internet voting project. We are pleased to announce that the results of this project were released in April 2026. Furthermore, our company consistently handled the creation and operation of the website related to this project.

Tsukuba City has developed as a "Research Academic City," where many educational and research institutions, such as national research organizations and universities, are gathered. Under an urban environment harmonized with nature, it promotes the social implementation of research results and is one of the municipalities actively undertaking advanced initiatives nationwide. In fiscal year 2022, it was designated as a "Super City National Strategic Special Zone" by the government and is working to solve social issues using advanced technology. Under the vision of "A City Where Tomorrow's World Can Be Seen," it aims to "co-create" a city where no one is left behind with its citizens, and one of its future-oriented initiatives is the internet voting project.

In fiscal year 2025, initiatives aimed at introducing internet voting in public elections were implemented, including a popular photo contest vote called "Insta-worthy Spot Voting" in collaboration with the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tsukuba Botanical Garden, and the Japan Meteorological Agency Meteorological Research Institute, both located in Tsukuba City, as well as a large-scale demonstration experiment targeting approximately 20,000 eligible voters in the city in collaboration with these institutions.

Our company has been promoting demonstration experiments for internet voting with Tsukuba City. In the 2025 internet voting project, we also supported the development, provision, and operation of the internet voting system, including compatibility with the My Number Card smartphone function, further improving operability.

For details, please refer to the project introduction site below. It introduces the voting events conducted in fiscal year 2025 and the results of participant surveys.
