(Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative Director: Hidenori Nakajima; hereinafter "Spiral Locas") announced on March 18, 2026, its participation in a demonstration project concerning the disaster/crisis management communication service (hereinafter "SaiKi Tsuho") of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System "Michibiki," promoted by the Cabinet Office, National Space Policy Secretariat, QZSS Strategy Office. Spiral Locas received a work consignment from Educe Co., Ltd., the contractor for this project.

It verified the linkage between the company's mass information distribution system for residents, "Sugu Mail Plus+," which is designed for municipal evacuation information distribution, and the SaiKi Tsuho service.

● About Michibiki's SaiKi Tsuho SaiKi Tsuho, provided by "Michibiki," directly transmits crisis management information such as earthquakes and tsunamis via satellite. This enables rapid information dissemination even in areas with vulnerable communication networks or environments where terrestrial communication has been disrupted. Furthermore, by utilizing location information, it can provide accurate evacuation instructions and evacuation site information according to the recipient's current location.
Outline of the Demonstration In this demonstration, we verified whether disaster information could be distributed by linking the evacuation information distribution system used by municipalities during disasters with SaiKi Tsuho, without adding a new burden to existing operational procedures. Our company provided a test environment for "Sugu Mail Plus+" as the information distribution environment for the demonstration.
Details of the implementation will be published later on the Michibiki website (https://qzss.go.jp/).
Future Outlook Through its participation in this demonstration experiment, Spiral Locas was involved in verifying the utilization of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System for disaster prevention and information transmission. The company will continue to cooperate as necessary in future demonstration projects and discussion forums.
