From March 9th to 13th, 2026, at GDC 2026 (Game Developers Conference) held in San Francisco, USA, Miraxyz SAS, the developer of CalibFX, showcased an immersive real-time demo at the OptiTrack booth, where XR (LED wall) and AR functioned as a single continuous stage.

**What is CalibFX?**

CalibFX is a calibration software for virtual production equipped with lens calibration and camera offset calculation functions. Spice Co., Ltd., the authorized Japanese distributor for Miraxyz SAS, began selling this product in Japan in December 2025. By using this product, discrepancies between live-action footage and CG can be eliminated, allowing both to be perfectly matched. As it is compatible with various cameras, lenses, 3D engines, and camera tracking systems, it can be used in many virtual studios.

**How CalibFX aligns LED walls:**

By displaying an AR tag reference pattern on the LED wall and capturing images with CalibFX, the camera's self-position (offset value) relative to the LED wall, obtained from image analysis, is input into the 3D engine's camera transform. This ensures correct perspective, scale, and parallax in both the XR and AR layers.

CalibFX is a powerful tool that enables XR and set extension in 3D engines such as Unreal Engine and Aximmetry, while supporting various camera tracking systems.

By precisely aligning the physical space (LED wall) and the virtual space, discrepancies at their boundaries are eliminated, enabling XR production. At GDC, an immersive XR performance was demonstrated, where virtual characters seamlessly moved in and out of the LED wall.

**Camera tracking with OptiTrack, lens data aggregation with RigFX**

Camera tracking uses the optical motion capture system OptiTrack. The position tracking (optical + IMU fusion) of the OptiTrack Wired CinePuck mounted on the camera and lens metadata are integrated in real-time by the RigFX hub. The system outputs integrated data via OpenTrackIO, which is directly used by the rendering engine. This ensures stable tracking, low latency, and consistent results.
