45% of Families Feel Guilty When Moving Parents to Nursing Homes, Yet 89% See Positive Changes Later

Speee Inc.'s nursing home search site 'Caresul Kaigo' released a survey based on 1,045 phone interviews with families. It revealed that 45.5% of families experienced guilt or conflict when deciding to move a parent into a facility. However, 88.6% of those who felt guilty reported positive changes, such as peace of mind and relief, after the admission. Interestingly, this rate of positive outcome was 11.8 points higher than that of families who did not express guilt during the decision-making process.
