株式会社Speee (Representative Director: Hideki Otsuka, TSE Standard Market: 4499, hereinafter "Speee") and SOMPO Holdings, Inc. (Group CEO, Representative Director, President: Mikio Okumura, TSE Prime Market: 8630, hereinafter "SOMPO Holdings") have signed a basic agreement to establish a joint venture aimed at digital transformation (DX) support in the renovation and repair sector. This initiative seeks to establish "trust, transparency, and speed" as new industry standards to reduce customer anxiety and burden during natural disasters and contribute to the healthy development of the renovation industry.

**1. Past Initiatives of Both Companies**
When natural disasters occur, many customers' homes are damaged, and arranging repair contractors takes a great deal of time and effort. Furthermore, troubles with unscrupulous businesses that exploit disasters and unjust insurance claim agencies have become a social problem. To address this issue, Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. (President: Koji Ishikawa, hereinafter "Sompo Japan"), a core company of the SOMPO Group, and Speee have collaborated since December 2022 to develop "Minna no Repair" (*1), a service for introducing excellent repair contractors. National trials since fiscal year 2023 have demonstrated reliable results in rapid recovery support and optimization of insurance claims.

**2. Purpose of Establishing the Joint Venture**
Through national trials, it was recognized that in order to alleviate customer anxiety and burden during disasters, it is necessary to establish a comprehensive system that quickly arranges trustworthy and excellent repair contractors and supports early commencement of work. Therefore, it was decided that establishing a joint venture was necessary to further develop the existing business alliance.

By combining Speee's extensive network of repair contractors in its renovation DX business with Sompo Japan's customer base, the aim is to resolve issues such as information asymmetry and contractor troubles inherent in the renovation industry.

Furthermore, by supporting sustainable business operations through ensuring appropriate profits for repair contractors and improving user value through enhanced construction quality, the joint venture will contribute to the overall health of the industry.

This initiative is also part of Sompo Japan's "HIKESHI DNA 2030 Project" (*2), embodying a new role for insurance companies that goes beyond merely "delivering insurance money promptly" to "accompanying customers until their homes are restored."

*2 Sompo Japan's project to strengthen initiatives in disaster prevention and mitigation to realize "a disaster-resilient society where everyone can live with peace of mind."
