Bringing "Unused Time" in Spaces to the Forefront of Research. Singulab Launches Sharing Economy Hub "Singulab Agito"

Singulab, a research community operated by SpaceData Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Katsuaki Sato; hereinafter "SpaceData") with the aim of fostering future talent adapted to the singularity, has launched "Singulab Agito." This project shares spaces during their unused hours, transforming them into hubs for research, ideation, and connection.

What is "Singulab Agito"?

"Singulab Agito" is an initiative that networks the "empty hours" of existing attractive facilities and utilizes them as activity bases for researchers. Inspired by the concept of "Albergo Diffuso" (scattered hotel), an Italian accommodation style that views an entire town as a single hotel, we have redefined urban and regional idle assets as "Agito" (hideouts). Places that usually operate as event spaces, snack bars, galleries, or restaurants transform into "research labs" for discussing cutting-edge technology, narratives, and social implementation during specific hours.

Current Key Locations and Area Characteristics

Details of the locations are kept private to ensure the creativity of a closed community. Currently, we are strengthening our presence in the following areas:

Tokyo (Azabu-Juban, Shibuya, Harajuku, Daikanyama): Hubs that foster stimulating exchanges at the forefront of trends, such as event venues in Shibuya and private restaurants in Daikanyama.

Kyoto (Location under selection): A tranquil place for contemplation where tradition and technology intersect, utilizing art galleries and traditional townhouses.

Oita (Location under selection): Ideal for regional revitalization and retreat-style research, with hot springs, accommodation facilities, and space-related facilities.

Open Agito: A space-time where people can gather and disperse freely. It aims to "reinvent gathering" and "platformize online & offline connections" by spontaneously turning spaces like shops, public areas, and parks into "bases."

Purpose: Creating Businesses from the "Mixing" of Diverse Talents
