[Hosted by Saitama City] 2026 Technical Needs for Manufacturing Open Innovation Project "BIZ SAITAMA" Released

The Saitama City Industrial Creation Foundation (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; Chairman: Masanori Nakamura) released the 2026 website for the open innovation project "BIZ SAITAMA," which it operates as a project commissioned by Saitama City, on April 1st (Wed).

BIZ SAITAMA Overview BIZ SAITAMA is an open innovation project that matches the technical needs (technical challenges) faced by manufacturing companies with companies inside and outside Saitama City. In fiscal year 2025, there were a total of 165 entries (proposals) from domestic and international SMEs and startups for the technical needs of 27 companies, mainly in the manufacturing industry, leading to 118 matches (matching rate: 71.5%). Furthermore, more than 20 cases have led to concrete progress, such as the start of transactions, prototype development, NDA signing, and PoC planning, rather than just ending with a match.

For fiscal year 2026, 32 technical needs (as of April 1st) from 26 companies, including Saitama City Leading Edge Companies (R&D-oriented manufacturing companies certified by Saitama City for their originality and innovation) and companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, have been released. On the website, we are accepting entries from companies with the technology to solve each technical need, and after entry, we plan to conduct matching interviews with the companies with technical needs online as needed.
