Soracom, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Ken Tamagawa) announced that it has been named a "Leader" in the "2026 Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) Rankings" by Counterpoint Research.

Soracom has been selected as a Leader in this evaluation for the third consecutive year. The ranking evaluated 29 CMP vendors based on over 100 platform capability and execution metrics.

In Counterpoint's evaluation, benchmarking was conducted on eight platform capability metrics—including provisioning and orchestration, security, analytics and reporting, AI utilization, and usability—as well as execution metrics such as global expansion, partnerships, financial foundation, and customer base growth. Soracom achieved the highest capability rating among the evaluated IoT MVNOs. This result recognizes the breadth and depth of a platform that covers everything from SIM-level connectivity management to AI-driven workflow automation and natural language data analytics.

"Soracom sets the standard for platform capabilities among IoT MVNOs. Its cloud-native and developer-first architecture provides clear differentiation in the market. In addition to early initiatives in iSIM and SGP.32, the integration of advanced AI and generative AI capabilities positions them advantageously for the next phase of enterprise IoT."

Mohit Agrawal, Research Director, Counterpoint Research

In this evaluation, attention was drawn to Soracom's continuous investment in extending its entire platform into the AI domain, going beyond mere connectivity management. The low-code IoT application builder SORACOM Flux enables the processing of sensor data and camera images, anomaly detection, and automated decision-making by incorporating AI actions. SORACOM Query provides natural language IoT data analytics capabilities, allowing users to search and analyze connectivity, billing, and device data without writing SQL. Furthermore, Soracom's MCP server enables direct integration with AI platforms like OpenAI and Claude, providing an environment where the connectivity management platform can be operated via natural language.

Additionally, Counterpoint mentioned Soracom's advanced efforts in next-generation SIM technologies. Soracom has been a pioneer in developing use cases utilizing iSIM from an early stage, and announced in July 2025 that it is advancing verification to provide SGP.32-compatible IoT SIMs. It is steadily progressing in its compliance with the next-generation eSIM provisioning standard formulated by the GSMA.

"Soracom was born as a connectivity platform built on AWS. It was designed from scratch as cloud-native software, rather than an extension of existing telecom carrier infrastructure. Over the past three years, we have expanded our foundation to include cloud integration services, satellite communication support via Skylo, and a suite of AI features that bring intelligence to the IoT frontline. We believe this evaluation by Counterpoint is a testament to the achievements of our engineering team, who have refined each layer to production-grade quality for customers operating across various industries and regions."
