SORABITO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuaki Hakata; hereinafter "SORABITO") has released a white paper titled "i-Rental Inspection Case Study: Practical Examples of Paperless Inspection Operations and Field-Based Operations." This white paper compiles case studies of the implementation of "i-Rental Inspection," a service for construction machinery rental companies.
This white paper introduces the implementation cases of two companies, Cosmo Kikai Co., Ltd. and Rental Kotos Co., Ltd., which are advancing the digitalization of inspection operations using "i-Rental Inspection."
In the construction machinery rental industry, information such as inspection sheets, repair slips, inspection photos, and maintenance history can easily become dispersed across paper, individual devices, Excel files, and folder management, leading to time-consuming confirmation, sharing, and storage. In particular, it is crucial to be able to quickly access records, including photos and notes, when confirming the condition at the time of entry/exit, determining charges for paid repairs, explaining to customers, and reviewing past history.
This document introduces the initiatives of two companies that are improving the efficiency of inspection operations and facilitating customer explanations by organizing inspection results, photos, notes, history, and evidence into a usable format for business operations.
The white paper, which summarizes specific usage details and changes after implementation, can be downloaded from the page below.

Overview of Featured Cases
CASE 01: Cosmo Kikai Co., Ltd.
Cosmo Kikai Co., Ltd. utilizes "i-Rental Inspection" for the inspection operations of tower cranes and construction elevators.
Their challenges included the time and effort required to confirm slips and photos due to the separation of their head office and equipment bases, and the need to leave clearer evidence of inspection results. By using "i-Rental Inspection," they have established an operation that records inspection results with photos and notes, allowing for the presentation, signing, and handover of inspection sheets in the field. Since implementation, they have achieved centralized management of inspection history and photos, ensured accountability to customers, and facilitated agreement with site supervisors.
CASE 02: Rental Kotos Co., Ltd.
Rental Kotos Co., Ltd. utilizes "i-Rental Inspection" for construction machinery entry/exit checks, repair inspections, and repair billing operations.
In addition to paper-based management, their challenge was that photos were scattered across iPads and folders, making it time-consuming to search for necessary photos and confirm the condition at the time of entry/exit. By using "i-Rental Inspection," they can centrally manage photos for each machine at the time of dispatch and return, enabling smooth searching and comparison of past photos and customer explanations.
Since implementation, they have reduced monthly overtime by approximately 60 hours and shortened the time required for inputting repair charges.

What is "i-Rental Inspection"?
"i-Rental Inspection" is a service that digitizes inspection sheets for various vehicles, including construction machinery. This service allows for the consolidated management of multiple inspection results, repair results, and photos for a single construction machine or vehicle. Furthermore, inspection types (e.g., dispatch inspection, return inspection, simple inspection, periodic inspection) can be arbitrarily customized, enabling operations that align with the actual inspection practices in the construction machinery rental business. It is compatible with multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets, and personal computers, providing a user-friendly environment for everyone involved in the vehicle rental business, including maintenance staff, inspection operation managers, front desk staff handling rental operations, and sales representatives accessing from outside. It contributes to improving the efficiency of inspection result registration, the efficiency of inspection history searches, and the real-time sharing of inspection and repair information.
Additionally, in January 2026, a new function compliant with the legally mandated "Specified Self-Inspection" will be officially released. This will enable the creation of inspection sheets that comply with the designated formats of the Japan Construction Mechanization Safety Technology Association.
Against the backdrop of the revised "Specified Self-Inspection Guidelines" to "Specified Self-Inspection Standards," which require more stringent inspection execution and record management, the company aims to strengthen corporate compliance systems and reduce the burden on the field through IT, thereby contributing to the promotion of safety DX in the field.
