AI Video Analysis Service "A2 Production" and Cloud Media Storage "Ci Media Cloud" to Roll Out Latest Versions Sequentially Starting Early June

Sony Marketing Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Daisuke Kawaguchi) will sequentially begin offering the latest version, Ver. 1.7, of its SaaS-based AI video analysis service "A2 Production" starting in early June 2026. This update includes the addition of the sound effect generation engine "MMAudio" and "Cloud Gateway Storage Service," along with an update to the sound source separation engine.

Additionally, the cloud media storage "Ci Media Cloud" will undergo sequential updates, including an expansion of supported file formats and the addition of a watch folder function to the integrated desktop application "Ci Transfer."

Overview of "A2 Production" Ver. 1.7

The latest version, Ver. 1.7, was released on June 5 (Fri). This version introduces the new engine "MMAudio" and launches the "Cloud Gateway Storage Service" to enhance cloud integration. Furthermore, updates to the sound source separation engine will improve expressiveness and operational efficiency in video production, broadcasting, and content creation.

- New Engine "MMAudio" (Sound Effect Generation)

This engine is an AI solution that analyzes the content of images and videos to automatically generate optimal sound effects for the scene. In addition to generation based on video analysis, it also supports sound effect generation via text input, realizing diverse acoustic expressions such as the sound of waves on a sandy beach and the passing of a train.

- "Cloud Gateway Storage Service"

The "Cloud Gateway Storage Service" is a cloud infrastructure service that enables secure and flexible material linkage between on-premises environments and the cloud.

It supports transfer instructions via a web browser, allowing users to initiate material transfers from anywhere using a web browser. Its simple and intuitive UI facilitates smooth material storage and retrieval.

- Update to Sound Source Separation Engine

By enhancing the sound source separation engine, more flexible and detailed separation processing is now possible. The 3-separation model can separate voices and instruments, while the newly added 2-separation model can separate dialogue and singing voices.

This update significantly increases the flexibility of secondary use and editing of audio materials in broadcasting and post-production environments.

* It is now possible to further separate voice sources extracted by other separation models into "dialogue such as narration" and "singing voices in music."

Overview of "Ci Media Cloud" Updates

- Support for RAW Data Preview

"Ci Media Cloud" is a cloud storage service that supports a wide variety of file formats. It offers features such as a preview function to view files uploaded to the cloud via a web browser, and file sharing with finely adjustable sharing permissions.

With this update, it now supports previewing RAW video data other than X-OCN captured by Sony cameras. When shooting data is uploaded to "Ci Media Cloud," proxy videos are generated, enabling preview. Furthermore, it becomes possible to perform editing work using lightweight proxy data, streamlining the workflow from preview to editing.

- Watch Folder Support for "Ci Transfer" (Scheduled for release after Autumn 2026)

A function will be added to the desktop application "Ci Transfer" to automatically upload and download files between local folders (such as desktop) and specified folders within designated workspaces in "Ci Media Cloud."

In the designated local folders and Ci workspaces, files added to the local folder will be uploaded to the workspace, and files added to the workspace will be downloaded to the local folder without manual operation. This feature eliminates the need for upload and download operations from folders that were previously handled via a web browser, making file exchange between local and cloud environments smoother.
