Sony Marketing Inc. has launched a new initiative to co-create the future of video production with creators aiming to challenge new forms of visual expression. The company has produced the short film 'OPTI,' which leverages the unparalleled high-purity color expression of the newly released 'True RGB' flagship BRAVIA model, 'BRAVIA 9 II,' as well as the immersive 3D sound of the home theater system 'BRAVIA Theatre Trio,' developed in early-stage collaboration with Sony Pictures' sound production engineers. Starring Nana Mori and directed by Yoshihito Mori, the film will be screened at five Sony Store locations nationwide starting June 13, 2026. It will also be exclusively distributed on Amazon Prime Video beginning July 12.

This daily-life sci-fi work, themed around 'loneliness' in modern society, is the first collaboration between acclaimed actor Nana Mori and director Yoshihito Mori.

Sony's BRAVIA TV brand promotes the message, 'Your own rich time,' creating entertainment spaces in living rooms and providing fulfilling experiences. For this initiative, Sony collaborated with creators who resonate with this brand message to produce 'OPTI.' The film highlights the high-purity color of the 'BRAVIA 9 II' and the immersive sound of the 'BRAVIA Theatre Trio.' Director Yoshihito Mori, known for his work in films, dramas, commercials, and music videos, helms the project. The lead role is played by Nana Mori, a versatile actor acclaimed both in Japan and internationally. Reflecting on the filming, Nana Mori commented, 'I think this work helps people realize that even just having the feeling of being with someone, or even having an annoying feeling toward someone, is actually a kind of happiness.' The film features a strong supporting cast, including Miwako Wagatsuma, Katsutoshi Kihara, and Saki Hamao, making this a 43-minute masterpiece brought to life by an all-star cast.

This work is a daily-life sci-fi film themed around 'loneliness' in our increasingly digitized society. The protagonist, Minori Fujino (played by Nana Mori), is a remote-working systems engineer who is extremely anti-social. She leaves her curtains closed, ignores unread LINE messages, and holds her breath at her front door when neighbors walk by until they pass. She hasn't spoken to anyone in person for 150 days. Every day, she discusses her work worries and talks to herself in the middle of the night with her personal adaptive AI assistant, 'OPTI.' One early morning, exhausted from being scolded by her boss, a strange pop-up suddenly appears on her screen: 'Would you like to stop your connection to the world?' She idly clicks on it, and upon waking up, discovers a world where everyone else has disappeared. It sends a quiet message of support to those who still wish to connect with someone despite the suffocation of modern society.

Starting June 13 (Sat), the film will be screened in theater rooms at five Sony Store locations nationwide.
