SOMPO Wellbeing Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasuhiro Oba; hereinafter "SOMPO Wellbeing") will begin offering "Co-Good," a program designed to establish new habits for protecting cognitive function, starting April 1, 2026. Through this, we aim to create a society where everyone can age positively and authentically.

As we enter the era of the 100-year lifespan, the number of people suffering from dementia is increasing year by year. To enable everyone to continue living authentically, and to support the vitality of communities and the sustainable growth of companies, maintaining cognitive health has become an urgent issue that individuals, as well as the nation, local governments, regions, and companies, must address collaboratively.

In the past, cognitive decline was often considered inevitable. However, recent years have shown that, especially at the stage of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), there is a possibility of recovery to a healthy state through appropriate lifestyle habits and proactive approaches. To spread this hopeful knowledge throughout society, organizations and private companies are expected to provide diverse and attractive programs and continuous support, complementing the limitations of public institutions. This approach is not merely an individual problem but is seen as a crucial measure to protect overall societal productivity and foster an environment where everyone can continue to work easily, leading to significantly increased expectations.

About "Co-Good," a New Habit Program for Protecting Cognitive Function

Since 2019, SOMPO has had an advisory agreement with the Karolinska Institute and has been developing the SOMPO Smile Aging Program for seniors as a "FINGER study social implementation program." Furthermore, SOMPO has participated in the J-MINT PRIME Tamba study, J-MINT study, and TAMBA study (Note) in Japan, contributing to the demonstration of cognitive decline prevention. "Co-Good" is a program designed to protect the future of cognitive function, leveraging the knowledge gained from these studies, making it easy for anyone to participate and implement anywhere in the country.

This program not only supports individuals in maintaining and improving their cognitive function but also contributes to local government and community care prevention and revitalization.
