Background and History Tamura City is promoting the improvement of citizens' disaster prevention capabilities through cooperation with local residents, administrative agencies, and companies that support the cause, by conducting comprehensive disaster prevention drills centered on citizen participation-type experiential training, to improve citizens' disaster prevention capabilities. Sompo Japan, as an insurance company that supports customers' safety, security, and healthy lives, utilized its expertise in supporting the stable prosperity of local industries and safe living, and proposed a cooperation agreement to Tamura City to contribute to the improvement of citizen services and regional revitalization, leading to the conclusion of this agreement.
2. Purpose of the Agreement Sompo Japan and Tamura City aim to improve Tamura City's regional disaster prevention capabilities by cooperating in raising citizens' disaster prevention awareness during normal times, assisting with the city's policies, and responding during disasters.
3. Main Contents of the Agreement Business cooperation will be carried out in the following areas: (1) Promoting disaster prevention awareness and disseminating disaster prevention knowledge among citizens and businesses (2) Collecting information using drones during disasters (3) Participating in disaster prevention seminars, disaster prevention drills, and other regional disaster prevention events (4) Cooperating in training and drills for city officials (5) Providing and raising awareness of information on earthquake insurance, building seismic retrofitting, and seismic diagnosis (6) Other matters agreed upon through discussions between both parties
4. Future Outlook Sompo Japan will continue to collaborate with Tamura City to develop local revitalization support activities. Furthermore, this agreement will be communicated to insurance agencies and others, and the entire company will contribute to Tamura City.
