SOMPO Holdings, Inc. (Group CEO & Representative Executive Officer, President: Mikio Okumura, hereinafter referred to as "SOMPO Holdings") held "SOMPO DEI Days" across its domestic group companies to further promote the practice of DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) throughout the SOMPO Group.
1. Background and Objectives
The SOMPO Group has established "SOMPO Values" (Integrity, Autonomy, Diversity) as values that all officers and employees cherish. Among these, "Diversity" encompasses not only differences in gender, disability status, nationality, etc., but also diversity of experience and values, signifying "welcoming diverse opinions and embracing feelings." This is an essential element for promoting the group's sustainable growth and, consequently, enhancing corporate value, and it forms the core of the DEI we aim for.
This fiscal year, the fourth year of the event, we changed from the one-week intensive "SOMPO DEI Week" to "SOMPO DEI Days," with events held periodically over approximately six months, to enable more officers and employees to participate. A total of approximately 2,000 officers and employees participated across the group. In addition, we launched the project "OUR STORIES," aiming to create an environment where female athletes can pursue sports in their own way. Through these initiatives, we aim for each officer and employee to view DEI as their own issue and for the group to unite in the "practice of true DEI."
