SOMPO Wellbeing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasuhiro Oba; hereinafter "SOMPO Wellbeing") will begin offering "Co-Good," a new habit-forming program to protect cognitive function, starting April 1, 2026. Through this, we aim to realize a society where everyone can age positively and authentically.
As Japan enters an era of 100-year lifespans, the number of people suffering from dementia is increasing year by year. To enable everyone to continue living authentically, and to support the vitality of local communities and the sustainable growth of companies, maintaining cognitive health has become an urgent issue that not only individuals but also the nation, local governments, communities, and companies must address collaboratively.
In the past, cognitive decline was often considered inevitable. However, recent findings suggest that, especially at the stage of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), recovery to a healthy state is possible through appropriate lifestyle habits and proactive approaches. To disseminate this hopeful knowledge throughout society, there is a growing expectation for organizations and private companies to provide diverse and attractive programs and continuous support, complementing the limitations of public institutions. This approach aims not only to address individual problems but also to protect overall societal productivity and foster an environment where everyone can continue to work easily.
■About "Co-Good," a New Habit Program for Protecting Cognitive Function
Since 2019, SOMPO has had an advisory agreement with the Karolinska Institute and has been developing the "SOMPO Smile Aging Program" for the elderly as a "social implementation program for FINGER research." We have also participated in the J-MINT PRIME Tamba study, J-MINT study, and TAMBA study (Note) in Japan, contributing to the demonstration of cognitive decline prevention. "Co-Good" is a program designed to protect the future of cognitive function, leveraging the knowledge gained from these studies, making it easy for anyone to participate and practice anywhere in Japan.
This program not only supports individuals in maintaining and improving cognitive function but also contributes to local government and community-based long-term care prevention and community revitalization.

■SOMPO Wellbeing's Vision for "Positive Aging"
SOMPO Wellbeing views the "three uncertainties" of the 100-year life era—health, long-term care, and retirement funds—not merely as individual risks, but as issues that affect the vitality of local communities and companies. By promoting comprehensive measures, we aim to realize a society where everyone can age with peace of mind and authenticity. This is what SOMPO Wellbeing defines as "Positive Aging."
Moving forward, our company will continue to gather the knowledge cultivated over many years by the SOMPO Group in long-term care, life insurance, and healthcare, and provide services that comprehensively address the "three uncertainties" of the 100-year life era.
